Project Description:
The objective of this project is to support farmers in Ceel-Dahir by constructing gabion baskets filled with stones to prevent flooding in their farms. The project will involve the construction of 80 gabion basket structures in the designated site to improve the resilience of farms against flood damage.
The gabion baskets are made of wire mesh cages that are filled with stones. They are an effective and proven method of controlling floods as they dissipate the energy of flowing water, reducing the risk of soil erosion and land degradation.
The project will be carried out in one site in Ceel-Dahir, and it is expected to take approximately less than one months to complete. The contractor will be responsible for the supply of all materials and labor required to construct the gabion baskets.
