1. Background

African Youth Development Association (AYODA) was founded as a Non-Governmental Organization in January 1st 2003, by a group of youth in Borama Awdal region Somaliland. AYODA works in collaboration with the Somaliland government, UN, international agencies, and local organizations. AYODA believes that the communities can create sustainable solutions for the problem that they encounter. It is a registered by the Attorney General and Ministry of National Planning and Development.

TENDER No. AYODA PR-02/CONSTRUCTION OF E.LATERINES/002/2024

Construction of 100 emergency latrines for target IDP’s in Awdal, M/Jeex, Togdheer and Sanaag regions and Construction of facilities at 5 Health Facilities in  Hargiesa district as per the specification in the BoQ & Design.

1. Introduction

Africa Youth Development Association (AYODA) has been operating effectively in Somaliland for the last 19 years with the cooperation of UN, INGOs, LNGOs, Government authorities and communities. AYODA’s head office is located in Borama Sheikh Osman West of Rays Hotel and its sub-office is located in Hargeisa Jigiga Yar North of Gabllea garage. AYODA has sufficient experienced human resource in both program and financial management, AYODA has experienced professionals about designing and implementation of different projects from Emergency to development programs All AYODA’s staff hails from within Somaliland. 

AYODA has been implementing UNICEF’s WASH activities since 2014 and has successfully completed all deliverables in all projects. The organization has competent staff that was trained by UNICEF, Ministry of Water and Ministry of Health on all activities related to water, sanitation and hygiene. AYODA in partnership with UNICEF and Ministry of Water Development has been engaging & implementing different WASH programs in all regions of Somaliland effectively and it has good knowledge of the local context as well as good relations with local communities, governance authorities and humanitarian and development agencies.  The partner will also be able to provide significant contribution to this partnership program, which is to be implemented as part of UNICEF’s L2 emergency response program.

Construction of WASH Twin Pit Latrines in 5 HFs at Hargiesa district

2. Tender Background

Emergency WASH project titled: Prevention and control of AWD/Cholera outbreak cases through provision of emergency WASH response to 800,000 people in Somaliland, by the current outbreak of acute watery disease (AWD)/cholera is attributed to limited access to safe water, adequate sanitation, basic health services and weakened immunity, especially among children with high levels of acute malnutrition For this purpose AYODA is inviting to bid for the construction of 100 Emergency latrines in targeted IDP Camps at Awdal, M/Jeex, Togdheer and Sanaag Regions and Construction of WASH facilities in Health Facilities in 5 HFs at Hargiesa district to the capable Construction company selected through a competitive tendering process.

AYODA hereby invites applications to establish contract with reputable and financially stable Contractor with vast experience capable to construct of 100 Emergency Latrines with hand washing facilities in the targeted locations in Borama, Gabilay,Burao, El-afwein and Erigavo Districts and Construction of WASH facilities in Health Facilities in 5 HFs at Hargiesa district as specified in the bid advert Documents.

Questions or requests for further clarifications should be submitted in writing to the contact person below:

Bid documents must be submitted in two sealed envelopes, one original Technical, one original Financial Separately, bearing an official contractor seal, and clearly marked by the “bidders’ name, address, and the tender reference number and title as stated above. Bid document must be submitted at AYODA Head Office in Borama Awdal region, before 29 June 2024 1: 00 PM.

AYODA Procurement Committee will open tender responses on 30 June 2024 at 10:00: Am at AYODA head office. AYODA reserves the right to accept or reject this bid, in partial, or in its entirety.
