Internal Audit & Compliance Coordinator (1 Position) Open to Somali Nationals Only

ROLE DIMENSION

Save the Children operates across all zones in Somalia and currently has three main area offices and additional 11 field offices. Programmatically Somalia is a large Country Office with more than $100million annual budget turnover, more than 70 active awards at any time and over 650 staff.

ROLE PURPOSE

To provide an independent objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve the organization’s operation by using a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. The main role is to conduct internal audits of SCI Country office programs spread across the Country as well as performing other duties in the absence of, or as delegated by the Internal Audit Manager

SCOPE OF ROLE

Reports to: Internal Audit and Compliance Manager

Staff reporting to this post: Internal Audit and Compliance Assistant.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an area of accounting, auditing or Business administration or equivalent Internal Audit qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, CIA, CFE, CISA etc) and/or other professional certification
  • At least 3 years recent professional experience in Internal Audit, Accounting, Risk management or Fraud Investigation. Experience in working for humanitarian, charitable or not for profit organization

  • Good communication skills.
  • Cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mind sets
  • Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
