Position Title: Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Intern

Context:
Under the overall guidance of the Programme Manager (CCCM) and the direct supervision of the Operations and Reporting Officer Camp Coordination and Camp management (CCCM), the successful candidate will assist in supporting and contributing to CCCM Unit’s activities, in particular Project Reporting, Communications, and Monitoring, Evaluation, Assessment, and Learning. Tasks will include:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
The core duties shall include the following:
1.Assist in the drafting, review, and preliminary editing of project proposal narratives and donor reports and participate in the proposal and report finalization process in coordination with the Programme Support Unit (PSU).
2.Assist Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to ensure proper monitoring of CCCM results and implementation of activities, tracking outputs of the activities and beneficiary figures, whilst also identifying challenges, gaps, and area of improvement and learning.
3.Assist with the preparation and execution of internal and external meetings with donor, partners, and government (preparing the agenda, taking minutes, collecting action points, developing PowerPoint presentations etc.).
4.Assist in developing communications products to showcase CCCM activities by assisting in data collection, development/writing, revising, proof reading, and graphics.
5.Conduct synthesis research on available studies, assessments, research, and lessons learned on CCCM in Somalia and other areas related to its interests, including but not limited to Community Engagement (CE), Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), Durable Solutions, Housing, Land, and Property (HLP), Women’s Empowerment, Protection etc.
6.Based on the synthesis, formulate challenges, gaps, and needs to strengthen aspects and future direction of the CCCM programme in Somalia, and connect with other partners, stakeholders, and government to exchange findings to support adaptive programming
7.Develop knowledge management systems for the CCCM Programme as needed to ensure that information and documents are stored online and easily accessible by assisting in collecting, arranging, and cataloguing information
8.Support the knowledge management of the CCCM Programme by maintaining and updating project matrix and maintaining institutional memories or other documentation and information management systems.
9.Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Training Components and Learning Elements
•The Intern will gain on-site experience in working in an international multicultural environment, within the United Nations system.
•The Intern will gain a better understanding of IOM’s work, as an inter-governmental organization in the field of emergency humanitarian response, migration, and sustainable development, incl. cooperation with the government partners, UN agencies, INGOS, NGOs, and representatives of the displaced community
•The Intern will acquire technical knowledge in reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and development of diverse communications products concerning Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) based programming.
•The intern will gain an in depth understanding of the migratory and displacement dynamics of Somalia.
•The Intern will be able to access relevant online training courses at the disposal of all IOM staff.
•The Intern will have the possibility to interact with the multi-stakeholder constituents, as well as with the internal and external partners involved in organization and implementation of capacity building communications and knowledge sharing activities.
Required
Education Qualifications
•University degree or/and master’s degree in international relations, International Development, Humanities, Law, Political or Social Science, or a related field from an accredited academic institution

Experience
•Six-month professional experience related to any of the following activities: M&E, reporting, data management, communications, research.
•Excellent and demonstrable analytical, communication and writing skills.
•Basic and demonstrated data literacy and experience.
•Experience working or interning for a charity, NGO, or UN agency is an advantage.
•Experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental or governmental institutions/organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Skills
•General knowledge of Microsoft Office (ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
•Digital literacy and demonstrated knowledge of information technology in Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is an advantage.
Languages.
Fluency in English is required (oral and written); Working proficiency of other UN languages will be considered an advantage.
