As one of the multi-sectoral local organizations in Somalia, Nomadic Development Organization (NODO) help vulnerable communities in distress and turn their crisis to opportunities and self-reliance. We help communities recover from disaster, build resilient communities, strengthen their capacity to with stand sudden shocks and find their own solutions.

NODO works in emergency response programs Including Health, WASH, Nutrition, Education in Emergency (EIE) and Resilience programs including climate change adaptation and Environmental conservation among others. We help internally displaced women and girls access safe spaces and dignified case managements. Nomadic Development Organization (NODO) is implementing an integrated Health and WASH project titled Provision of integrated lifesaving WASH and Health services to conflict affected population in Xudun district of Sool region’ in partnership with OCHA Somalia.  

NODO is currently seeking a qualified and knowledgeable enumerator to conduct data collection for post-distribution monitoring of the Health/Wash project in Xudun district funded by SHF. Under the direct supervision of the data collection supervisor, the Incumbents will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Attend/participate in data collection training that will be conducted by NODO.
    • Gather and accurately record responses on questionnaires through an Open Data Kit (ODK) upon the consent of the respondents.
    • Conduct qualitative interviews with the key informants including beneficiaries, community members, and community leaders.
    • Facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with 8 -12 participants
    • Ensure completeness of forms for accuracy and consistency immediately following data collection
    • Submit completed questionnaires to the team supervisor.
    • Maintain teamwork and effective communication with both the team supervisor and other enumerators during the fieldwork
    • Capture action photos during the data collection at the field with the consent of the interviewee.
  • Any other duties assigned by the team supervisor. 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • At least a diploma in any of the network fields of education, social science, information technology, and any other relevant discipline/study.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience and knowledge of mobile data collection such as ODK/Kobo among others
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Somali (essential)
